Fawn Mckay

Fawn MCK Brodie was born on September 15th, 1915 in Ogden Utah. Fawn MCKAY, raised in the Mormon Church's First Family, used her literary talent and research abilities to create the fascinating psycho-historical biographical biography of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945 with the title: No Man is a Master of My History, she used both. The title was inspired by the sermon title given by Joseph Smith in 1844. He amazed his audience by stating: "You do not know me and have not heard my heart. No one has ever known about my past. Nobody knows my story. The 29-year-old wrote Fawn: Since the moment when he spoke, about three dozen writers have jumped on the gauntlet. Some have rebuked him, while others have deified. There are a few who have come to an assessment. Not that the documents are not there, but that they're so inconsistent. This is the task--sifting out first-hand testimony from third hand inconsistencies and integrating Mormon-related narratives into a coherent theology. This is exciting as well as informative. Fawn brodie was highly committed to the task. The fruits of her research and writing immortalized her with world-wide fame: Thaddeus Stevens. The Devil drives (1959). Thomas Jefferson. Richard Nixon, An Intimate historical account (1974), posthumous.
